Kid funnies
Micah is the star of my kid comment post today.
My cousin J.D. and his wife live in Wisconsin. They have two really cute kids. The youngest one (Jackson) was born premature and very tiny. He is doing well, and we have enjoyed watching the photos of him on Facebook. It's been so nice to see a journal of how he has grown over the weeks. The most recent photo showed him having a bath in one of those plastic basins they use in hospitals. We all know that those basins are very multi-use in clinics and hospitals. When I showed the picture to my kids, Micah blurted out, "Was I ever small enough to be bathed in a barf bucket?!"

It Must Be Halloween
I love this time of year. The harvest time, the temperature outside, the pumpkins and decorations, the costumes, and the spooky fun. Over the years, people have mentioned to me that they dislike this holiday because it was started as a Pagan holiday. Bleh. I say that Halloween is a whole lot of fun, and we should get out there and enjoy it our own way! That is exactly what we did on Monday night. We went to Cornbelly's with our longtime good friends Tracie, Jesse, and Joey Garcia. It was a great time!
Of course, when Tracie and I get together with our kids, we have to get creative because we both have all boys, which equals lots of energy to burn. Cornbelly's had so many different things to do that they went non-stop, even through the evening, and occasional rain. We stayed for 4 and a half hours, and they still wanted to keep going.
We decided to try the most difficult maze, and the map they gave us didn't help. Dakota took on the roll of our Navigator and we managed to get through it in half an hour. There were also places to get up high and look around.

Everyone wanted to stay in the house of corn. They had to keep dumping it out of their shoes. And I'm still finding corn in the dryer.
The go-carts were a favorite activity. We went back two times so they could drive them around the course. Look out, Nascar!
As it got dark and cooler, Tracie and I tried to guide them toward the warmth of the bonfire. We couldn't steer them away from all the fun things still waiting.
Punishments were severe :)
It was hilarious watching the boys bounce around on these large blow-up horses. They had more fun running into each other than anything else.
Tracie and I had to get in on the fun.
We really enjoyed this Fall day with our friends. Thanks to you, Tracie, Jesse, and Joey, for spending this time with us!

Christa McAuliffe Space Education Center
Carson was able to go, along with his class, to the Christa McAuliffe Space Center in Pleasant Grove. They have been preparing for weeks for this field trip, reading up on their mission and the government, leaders, and problems on their "New Earth" planet. Today was the big day of their time at the center and the simulators. Carson was given the position of 2nd Office on the "Voyager." He enjoyed the experience very much, and felt like they were successful. I hope to have some photos to post soon.

Zoo Field Trip
Today, I drove and chaperoned Micah and some classmates on a field trip to the Hogle Zoo. Dakota went along and helped me, and as it turns out, it was a good thing. It was a fun but very tiring day. Here are some pics.

Backtracking again
Carson received his Tenderfoot rank in 11 year old Scouts. He worked very hard and I'm so proud of him.
It's Halloween time again. Two years of blogging. Can it be??
Carson and Micah have been growing pumpkins in our backyard. Let me re-phrase that, their pumpkin patch has taken over and become our backyard. They are having a contest with Aunt Sue, and are growing regular size and also Giant Dill. The pumpkins are getting so big!
