Birthday

Yesterday was my Birthday.  I am 49 years old, and mostly proud of all of these years and what I have made of my life and my talents.  I have a long way to go, but I am always searching.  I always look to the sky for comfort and for signs.  Sometimes simply to be in awe of the wonder of God's   creations.  It's all there in the sky.  We are part of this great big wonderous world.  Here is sunset on the day of my birthday, as Dakota was driving me to work.

Here is sunset as I stood at the library and looked at the sky, just before dark.  Absolutely gorgeous.  I am taking this as a good sign for the coming year.

Micah's loving heart

It's December 19th, the day before my birthday.  Carson and Micah are off of school for Christmas break and Paul isn't working today.  These are the mornings that it is difficult for me to climb out of bed in the dark, get ready, and go to work without the hustle and bustle of my buddies getting ready for school.  I wish so much that I could stay home with them.

As I was walking past Micah's door this morning, he whispered "Mom."  I went into his room and asked what he wanted.  He said, "I really don't miss going to school right now, but I do miss talking to you in the morning, and you driving me to my bus stop."

Be still, my heart.

Sparkly rain

This early morning, I was standing in the doorway, seeing Carson off to the bus stop.  I noticed this view, and ran for my camera.  The rain clung to the branches of our tree.  There are no leaves, just the rain suspended there.  It even sparkles all over the ground.  It's a dark photo, but oooohhh  it was so beautiful.  Rain hanging on the tree and the grass.  I wish you could have been there.

We are Christmasy!

We had our mini holiday decorating day immediately after Thanksgiving.  We have two trees and everything else we could find to put up.  I love this time of year.

When we looked at our photos, we found that the shadows of our tree on the house, combined with the color of the lights around the door, made our entryway look sort of . . . haunted.

Merry Christmas time everyone!

Mother's bracelet

My boss did some agricultural work for a farmer recently.  The man gave him a gift certificate in return for his work, for jewelry made with pearls and silver. No one in his family were interested in the jewelry, so he offered the gift certificate to me.  I happily accepted and ordered this "mother's bracelet" with natural pearls colored the birthstone colors of each of my three boys.  When it came in the mail, I was so thrilled with the quality and beauty.  I really love it.
