Rescue Pad

God is great.  There is no doubt.  I am so thankful for that fact.

Today I am raising a toast to those of you who are painfully watching me hanging from this window ledge by my finger nails.  Those who call messages of support when I feel like letting go.  I can hear you. I know that you are still there underneath me with that big rescue pad thing, to catch me if needed.   You know who you are, and I love you.

The Blue Fairy

I worked at the Library today.  I wanted to be home on a Saturday, but knew I needed to get some more hours in. 

While there, we were working on an idea for a calendar for our manager (Sharon).  We always give her a calendar with pictures of each of us on our birthday month.  This time, the Clerks have decided that we each need to be assigned a Disney character that fits us.  We were all anxious to know which character they had chosen for us.  They told me that I am the "Blue Fairy" from Pinocchio.  I inquired why they chose her.  Emily said, "Because she is elegant and kind.  She's wise, poetic, and gives good advice.  That's who you are to us."  What a nice compliment that is to me.  Now you know why I love my Library friends so much.

Backtracking again

Monday was a gorgeous day outside.  I had some hours off of work, so the kids and I headed for the hills (literally).  We took another trail and hiked further up Rock Canyon this time.  I got to show them "Devil's Kitchen," a favorite place of mine.  It is so much smaller than I remember it from when I was a kid.  Go figure! 

Spring has come to the Canyon.  Buds are blossoming out on the trees.  Wonderful!

Easter Sunday

Easter weekend continues...

Since we missed church today, we had our own Easter lesson at home.  We read Jesus's words to his disciples before he was crucified, and then the chapter about his resurrection.  We also watched the "Ten Commandments" last night.  All of these things helped us to keep our minds on the true celebration of this holiday.

Carson and Micah planned an Easter egg hunt for some of the neighbor kids.  They bought the candy and filled the eggs, and invited our friends across the street.  We hid them in the front yard, and turned the kids loose.

Here are some pics.  My boys wore their Easter presents.  We have been learning about our Native American heritage.  It is something we all enjoy.

Easter and a thankful heart

The last three weeks have been scary for me.  I'm thankful to have great friends and family to extend love and prayers to me.  This Easter time, I am especially grateful for life and good health.  I am blessed with so much and each day is important.  God is great.

My work schedule is still extreme, but we have managed to have fun and do our traditional Easter things.  We love dying eggs, it never seems to get old.  Yes, they end up in the macaroni salad or deviled eggs the next day, but the fun is in the coloring (and the picture taking).

We've still got an Easter egg hunt tomorrow, so probably more pics to come.

Motherless

While working at the Clinic today, in my usual spot at the front desk, I heard a mom reassuring her daughter on the phone.  She said, "Everything will be fine, Honey.  It's okay, it will all be fine."  All of the sudden, I had to fight back the tears.  Oh the things I would give to hear my Mother's voice again, saying that to me.  How much I need that right now.  Some aches never go away.
