A lot has happened to me in the last few days. I lost a longtime friendship. I reconnected with an old and dear friend of mine. I tried to get more sleep, to look ahead.
Today we went to the Springville Art Museum. Who new that a building so beautiful was right under my nose this whole time. I took some pics, of course. I especially loved seeing my boys exploring the Garden of Sculptures. Really beautiful, the way I feel about my children.
I'm proud of these guys :) They challenge me. They also bring sunshine and hope to all my days.

A Quiet Pain
The manilla envelope came in the mail while I was at work today. It was nothing unexpected, just the judge's signature on my divorce decree. A notice that my marriage to Ray is legally over. I am relieved in an odd way, and glad to be on this side of things, instead of where I was 6 months ago. Still, there is a quiet pain in my heart. I think it will be there always. Probably take it's place alongside the other chronic bits of sadness inside me. I suspect that I will cry myself to sleep tonight. I do a lot of that.

A new month
Tomorrow is a new day, a new week, and a new month. I like the sound of that. I will go into it hopefully and prayerfully.
We love October at our house. Halloween is next to Christmas in importance to my children. The excitement, the costumes, the parties, the sugar coma. I can't wait to start carving pumpkins.
We are also planning a Lord of the Rings party at our house in December. A good excuse to invite friends over, and to get us excited for the Hobbit premiere. We need things to look forward to, and this will be fun for us.
Happy Fall to everyone!

Church in the canyon
We went to Rock Canyon again today. The colors are so beautiful. We walked farther and longer than we have before. The view is always a treat, and the time spent together priceless.
I suppose it's my fate that as a mother of all boys, and the fact that I'm not very tall to begin with, I am doomed to be the shortest in the family. Carson is taller than me now. Micah is quickly catching up. And Dakota . . . well that battle was lost years ago.
Hurry up, Hobbitsies!

Photo catch-up (because my camera is working again)
Here is a little pic catch-up of our lives. My camera is now working again, and so is my brain, after a day's rest. Here we go.
Micah received his Wolf Scout badge and won 3rd place in the Pinewood Derby
First day of school, Aug. 21st. Carson started 7th grade and Micah began 4th grade. New schools for all of my kids this year. Whewww! Notice the lack of uniforms. There is no photo of Dakota, because . . . well he's 18. He started UVU this year. Wah hoo!
Rock Canyon today. The colors are coming out, and it is so beautiful. We couldn't wait to get back to the canyon and check it out.
